Ontario Soccer continues to work in consultation with Canada Soccer and the Government of Ontario, as we prepare for Return to Play 2021. Ontario Soccer will keep the membership updated with the most recent developments surrounding the public health crisis as it relates to our sport.

On Sept. 14, 2021, the Government of Ontario further clarified the details of its Proof of Vaccine Requirements and laid out the exemptions for indoor facilities. They also released the official regulations.

Ontario Soccer communicated these updates on Sept. 14, 2021 in bulletin I2021-075.

Ontario Soccer has now reviewed the new regulations with the Ministry of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries to confirm interpretation for sport and updated its Return to Play Guide in accordance with the provincial regulations.

In addition to the updates to the Return to Play Guide, today the Ministry of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries has clarified the following:

  • Proof of identification and proof of being fully vaccinated is not required for workers or volunteers, including coaches and officials.

As a reminder, the Government of Ontario Proof of Vaccination requirements as they pertain to organized sports are for Indoor facilities only.

Organizations are encouraged to review the updated Return to Play Guide and update their own Return to Play plan in accordance with the Government regulations.
